Though Tito Ortiz wasn't one of the participants for UFC 109, he was quite possibly involved in the biggest storyline of the night. While Mark Coleman was trying to get through his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan following the loss to Randy Couture, Coleman, with the microphone in hand, responded with some choice words to Tito as Ortiz apparently said something negative to Coleman as he walked by.

What was it all about? Ariel Helwani of MMA Fighting caught up with Ortiz to figure it out.

When asked what it was exactly that he said to Coleman, Ortiz responded, "I said paybacks are a motherf***er. He talked a bunch of s**t about my girl and my family. And you don't do that. You don't bring personal s**t into my life. I defend my family. For him and his manager to say the stuff they did… you just don't say stuff like that."

Ortiz also touched on how the taping of TUF 11 is going, which is set to debut this March.

"Things are going very well. There's no drama between the coaches, only the fighters. We got some really top-level guys here. It's the best season ever. I guarantee you!"

Later, Ortiz addressed his recent comments about Chuck Liddell where he called "The Iceman" an alcoholic. Ortiz says he didn't mean for it to come out that way.

"People took it out of context. I was trying to say I'm proud of him for being sober. I went through the same type of stuff he did. I'm proud of him. I'm not trying to talk smack."

Tito Ortiz Explains What Went Down With Mark Coleman After UFC 109
Despite UFC President Dana White stating last week that UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar would meet with his physician this week to determine his condition, White has decided to not reveal any details on his status.

"Brock asked me not to talk about it," White told Fanhouse.com. "I have to respect that."

White went on to offer "no comment" when asked if he could make any statement about Lesnar. He had stated last week that they should know the status of Brock Lesnar this week.

“This is the week, this week Brock Lesnar is going back to the doctor and getting fully checked out," said White at the UFC 108 post-fight press conference last weekend. "This week I’ll know. So we get through this week and hopefully Brock's OK.

“If the doctors say things are going well and things are going in the right direction, then maybe we’re a few months away from him coming back," he continued. "If it’s not going in the right direction, he'll either be done and have to retire, or he’ll be out for a couple of years. After we get that announcement, then we'll be able to plan what we're going to do with the heavyweight division."...

Dana White Stays Quiet On Brock Lesnar's Status
former UFC middleweight champion Rich Franklin has decided to use his downtime to correct a slight tear in his abdomen. Franklin last fought at UFC 103, where he was knocked out in the first round by Vitor Belfort.

Franklin told the website that the injury first arose while preparing for his UFC 93 bout with Dan Henderson last January and has lingered until now.

“It’s not real painful yet, but I’m having it taken care of prior to it becoming a major problem,” said Franklin.

The former 185-pound king is hoping to make a return sometime in the spring, preferably the May 1st card if he can get cleared in time to put together a solid training camp.

UFC 113 is being rumored to take place in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on May 1st. The rumor mill has the rematch between light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua slated as the main event of the card. A grudge match between Rashad Evans and Quinton "Rampage" Jackson is also expected to take place at the event.

Former UFC Middleweight Champion Rich Franklin Has Surgery
The UFC has just officially announced the welterweight bout between Mike Swick and Paulo Thiago for UFC 109. Not a big shocker as word broke a week ago that Swick would be stepping in to replace his fallen American Kickboxing Academy teammate, Josh Koscheck, at the February 6th event.

Swick holds an impressive 14-3 record, but dropped a lopsided unanimous decision to Dan Hardy at UFC 105 last month. The loss marked his first since dropping to the welterweight division back in January of 2008.

Speaking of nasty records, Thiago boasts a 12-1 mark of his own – with seven of his victories coming via submission. The Brazilian’s only loss came at the hands of his American Kickboxing Academy teammate Jon Fitch at UFC 100.

As reported earlier, former UFC middleweight and two-time United States Olympic wrestler Dan Henderson has signed a four-fight contract with Strikeforce after failing to come to terms with the UFC. UFC President Dana White has since stated that he pushed Dan Henderson into signing with Strikeforce.

"He's happy, but the reality is that I pushed him into signing that deal," White told FanHouse. "I told people over the weekend that he'd sign within the next week."[more]

Dan Henderson has been a free agent since UFC 100 last July, where he defeated Michael Bisping via a devastating knockout in the second round. The stalemate in negotiations between Henderson and White became public in September.

"I wanted him to s**t or get off the pot," White stated. "He was in this limbo forever, and he needed more motivation to make a decision.

"Let me ask you a question," he continued. "Do you think that there's any guy we can't get that I want? Other than Fedor [Emelianenko]? So far, he's been the one guy we can't get. But everyone else that we've wanted, we got. If I wanted Dan Henderson, I could've signed him."

White noted in late October that negotiations between the UFC and Henderson were at a stalemate, and Henderson was free to move on. He said that Henderson wouldn't find a better offer from Strikeforce than the one they presented to him.

"For the money he wanted, he's not worth it," White said. "He's not a big pay-per-view star, he's not a big attraction, and he's not going to sell out arenas. He wants way too much and he doesn't bring anything to the table.

"Here's the reality: If I wanted him, he'd be in the UFC," he continued. "It's not like, 'F***, Strikeforce beat me out.' He's been a free agent for a long time. If I wanted him, I would have signed him by now."

Henderson may fight his first fight with his new home in April 2010. Possible opponents for Henderson include Strikeforce middleweight champion Jake Shields or light heavyweight champion Gegard Mousasi. A bout against top ranked heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko may also be in the works.

"Strikeforce and its growing roster of world class talent will offer me many exciting fights and has the ability to bring many new fans from all around the world to mixed martial arts," Henderson said about his signing with Strikeforce. "I am grateful to [Strikeforce CEO] Scott Coker for the opportunity to help make this happen and for treating me with the utmost respect throughout our negotiations. I'd also like to thank Dana (White) and the UFC for the opportunities they provided me and I wish them ongoing success. I'll continue to watch their events and I hope they'll tune in to my fights in Strikeforce. After all, I'm a true fan of our fantastic sport and would love only to see MMA continue to grow."
